ANOTHER PUNK BITES THE DUST

Portland, Oregon legendary alt-rock club Satyricon, “the CBGB’s of the West,” is closing. It’s been shuttered before – in 2003, resurrected in 2006 – but this time it’s for good. Rain-soaked hardcore/metal/indie fans are going to have to find somewhere else to headbang, pogo, mosh, rock out, and not chillwave.

Fittingly, the club is going out with a bang thump thwack by scheduling a month-long celebratory calendar of events. Portland alt-natives the Dandy Warhols announced yesterday that they are joining in on October 16th with a very special episode, featuring original drummer Eric Hedford, who has not performed with the Dandies in twelve years.  The show is also billed as only for those “31 & Up,” so the kiddies will have to stay home that night and reminisce about Twisted Sisiter and Transformers or something. Swoon 23 and Sugarboom round out the bill.

The Dandy Warhols are making 140 presale tickets available  on 9/21 to fans who also purchase a ticket to their 12/12 show at the Wonder Ballroom; the remaining 100 tickets will be up on 9/23 to the masses. Link tells you all!
