MICHAEL BEEN 1950-2010

My deepest condolences to Robert Been of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and his family in the loss of his father, Michael Been, of a heart attack at a Belgian music festival where BRMC was performing yesterday. Michael was best known as the leader of the band The Call, and had traveled with BRMC for many years as a sound tech. Undoubtedly, father and son were very close, and I am glad that they had the opportunity to work together and share their love of music, all over the world.

Sixty is too young to go. So sad.

I'll always love the music you left for us Michael.
"On the verge of a nervous breakthrough" is one of the greatest CDs in my collection.

You guys were great, and I wish I could have met you in person and told you how much it meant to have someone writing the songs you wrote.

I guess I believe that I will see you again, when I meet you, and the rest of the Reconciled.
