What would you do for five bucks? Some of you won't take a breath for less than ten and some of you would sell your mother and horse she rode in on for a dime, but I assume you are somewhere in the vast middle of that configuration. On the flip side, what task would you far rather farm out for five bucks than do yourself?
Take a look at Fiverr.com, which bills itself as "The place for people to share things they're willing to do for $5. Buy. Sell. Have fun." For instance, if we poke around the site we can find earnest entrepreneurs ready to:
...do a "movie trailer" style voiceover for your website/podcast/business, etc.
...read your palm
...write something in the sand for you and turn it into a greeting card
...write you a lo-fi indie-pop song
...send you a postcard from Italy (Rome)
...advertise for you/your business to my 36,000 Twitter followers
...create a screen print t-shirt design for you in Adobe Photoshop/Adobe Illustrator
...help you to work with you on any software project for 1 hr for $5
and much more.
It's a simple, cute idea and is not creepy craigslist, therefore I deem it cool.
